The New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) is at the heart of podiatric medicine. From our New York City location to our history as the longest standing podiatric medical school in the country, we are at the center of it all. This is where aspiring and practicing podiatric physicians come to learn and flourish in their career, gaining the experience, skills, and support to thrive in the podiatric medical field.
Established by Excellence
NYCPM first opened its doors in 1911 as the New York School of Chiropody, making us the nation’s first school of podiatric medicine. Over the years, we’ve evolved our curriculum and clinical experiences to adapt to the advancements in medicine and podiatry.
Our students produce some of the best outcomes in podiatric education, from consistently high licensing exam passage and placement rates in choice residency programs to advancing the field of podiatric medicine through their research. We’ve been doing this for over a century and counting— and we always stay a step ahead.
Led by Experts Dedicated to Your Success
You'll go far with the support of the NYCPM team behind you. Renowned in their fields with years of expertise to guide you, our faculty and staff are focused on helping you get the experience you need to reach your career goals and keep going.
Whether practicing as a doctor in a hospital setting or private practice, or leading academic programs, our team provides the resources and training to take you exactly where you want to go in podiatric medicine.
Supported by an Extensive Community
From the moment you enter our doors, you become part of a tight-knit community of podiatric physicians who are here to help you through your academic journey and beyond.
Nearly 20% of practicing podiatrists in the nation have graduated from NYCPM—which means that wherever you go after graduation, you’ll most likely meet fellow NYCPM alumni who are ready and willing to support you throughout any and every stage of your career.
Driven by Experience
Our campus and surrounding affiliated hospitals and clinics—including our affiliated Foot Center of New York—place you in the epicenter of podiatric medical excellence. Here, you’ll encounter an unparalleled volume and diversity of lower extremity pathologies ranging from routine care to the most intricate procedures and complex cases.
NYCPM is where you can expertly hone your skills in various medical settings, equipping you with the confidence and expertise to treat patients throughout their case with competence and compassion.
