Dr. Babayev is clinical faculty in the Department of Surgery at her alma mater NYCPM, where she trains residents and students in surgical techniques of the foot and ankle in the classroom, as well as in affiliated hospital clinics, with inpatient care, and in the operating room.

She completed a competitive and rigorous four year reconstructive surgical program at NYP/Queens, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and its affiliates NYP/Weill Cornell and NYP/Columbia. Her post graduate training included working with plastic surgeons, where she developed techniques for optimal aesthetic surgical results, as well as training in orthopedic trauma, sports medicine, and elective reconstruction of the foot and ankle. She was appointed Chief resident in her fourth year. She is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery, and is an active member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. She participates in continuing medical education and training courses, volunteers as medical staff at various marathons and triathlons, and has organized blood drives in her community.

Outside of medicine, she is a classically trained pianist, and enjoys skiing, biking and the outdoors with her family.
