Dr. Melanie Love is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of New York. She joined NYCPM in the fall of 2024 in the role of Mental Health Counselor. Dr. Love provides short-term psychotherapy to students to help support students in their mental health and better achieve their academic goals. She leads other wellness initiatives for the school, including workshops to teach practical stress management skills and improve resilience, motivation, and self-care.
Prior to joining NYCPM, Dr. Love completed her doctoral training at Teachers College, Columbia University. She did her predoctoral internship at Temple University’s Counseling Center and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU’s Counseling Center with a specialization in substance use. She is the co-author of the book Secrets and Lies in Psychotherapy, published by APA Press in 2019. Dr. Love is currently in private practice in New York working with graduate students and adults on issues related to anxiety, self-esteem, and relationships.
